Research Process
How we gather, analyze, and verify information for our reviews and guides.
Our Approach to Research
Thorough research is the foundation of every article we publish. Before we write a review or guide, we invest significant time in gathering and analyzing information from a wide range of sources. This page explains our research process so you can understand — and trust — how we arrive at our conclusions.
1. Product Research
For each product we review, we gather information from multiple sources:
- Manufacturer specifications: Official product pages, user manuals, and technical documentation.
- Product packaging and labeling: Ingredient lists, usage instructions, and safety information.
- User reviews: Feedback from verified purchasers across multiple retail platforms.
- Third-party analysis: Reviews from other publications, consumer advocacy resources, and industry analysis.
We do not rely solely on manufacturer-provided information. We seek out independent perspectives to build a balanced understanding of each product.
2. Market Comparison
Understanding a product in isolation is not enough. We compare each product against alternatives in the same category to understand:
- How features and specifications compare at similar price points
- What trade-offs exist between different options
- Where a product stands out — and where it may fall short
- What alternatives readers may want to consider
3. Information Verification
We make every effort to verify the accuracy of the information we publish. This includes:
- Cross-referencing: Checking claims against multiple sources whenever possible.
- Contextualizing: Placing product claims in proper context. A feature that sounds impressive in marketing language may be standard across the category.
- Identifying gaps: Noting when certain information is unavailable or unverifiable, rather than filling gaps with assumptions.
4. Transparency About Limitations
We are honest about what our research can and cannot tell you. We do not claim to conduct:
- Clinical trials or laboratory testing
- Dental or medical evaluations
- Long-term longitudinal studies
- Controlled user testing panels
Our reviews are based on publicly available information and are designed to support consumer decision-making — not to serve as scientific or medical assessments.
5. Ongoing Monitoring
The wellness market evolves continuously. We monitor product categories for new developments, including:
- New product releases
- Product reformulations or version updates
- Changes in pricing or availability
- Emerging consumer feedback trends
When significant changes occur, we update our content accordingly. Each article includes a date indicating when it was last reviewed or updated.
